Your local video library on your machine.
VidShelf is a desktop app for creators, archivists, filmmakers, and collectors with large video folders across drives. It indexes in place into SQLite with full-text search, fills thumbnails in parallel, and can import Video Hub App .vha2 libraries as a migration path. Alpha software — local-only, not a streaming server.
VidShelf (formerly Frameshelf). Gumroad links and download file names may still show Frameshelf until listings are updated. Windows builds run as Frameshelf.exe.
What it does
Browse and filter large libraries with a grid, filmstrip scrub, star ratings, tags, playlists, and favorites
Full-text search via an indexed SQLite database (not a giant JSON rescan each launch)
Play MP4, M4V, WebM, and MOV in-app; open other formats in your local player
Visual duplicate cleanup with quarantine and a mark-for-delete queue
Optional password-protected remote access and multi-user accounts (Pro + Remote)
Import tags and favorites from Video Hub App by fingerprint
How you run it
Download the Windows or macOS build from Gumroad, run the app, and open the UI in your browser at 127.0.0.1:8787. Nothing installs system-wide; your files stay on disk unless you move them yourself.
